Second Annual Congo Banquet Report

Thank you to all who attended our recent second annual Congo banquet! We were privileged to celebrate together with a wonderful evening of food, fellowship, music, media, and stirring testimony.

A vision was laid out for a variety of ways in which Elim can partner with the Evangelical Free Church in the Congo (CECU) to help meet the needs of orphans and widows impacted by AIDS, to train and equip pastors, and to return to the Congo in 2009 with ministry teams to complete specific projects. Everyone was encouraged to pray about using whatever gifts or skills God has given you to be a part of this important effort.

We also appreciated those who responded with a gift, pledge, or commitment to sponsor a Congolese orphan. Those who committed to sponsor an orphan should have received an e-mail from me, with a link to the GlobalFingerprints web site where you can complete your sponsorship online:

If you experience any problems or have questions, please let me know.

We were also privileged to hear from Dr. Tom Cairns, a long-time ECFA medical missionary to the Congo. If you missed this event you can hear Martin's dialogue (during Sunday's worship service) with Dr. Cairns by clicking here: http://www.ElimEFC.com/Sermons/080224.mp3.
